Wine Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Winery IL POGGIONE
Vintage 2010
Format 750 ml

"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a striking wine that shows uncompromising varietal pureness, even if in a most concentrated and elaborate form. This is what great Sangiovese is all about! There is so much happening on the nose and the wine brings cherry, spice, licorice, cured meat, rose and grilled meat in equal measure with no element overpowering the next. The mouth feel is tight and bright with the kind of fruit intensity that promises long cellar aging. This Brunello is only at the beginning of a long road ahead. The longer the wine stays in the glass, the more it offers in terms of complexity and intensity, a true standout that can be enjoyed for up to 20 years ahead.

Fabrizio Bindocci and his son Alessandro are one of the most accomplished fatherson winemaking team in Italy today. They excel in every aspect of winemaking, from vineyard management to wine marketing. This may be one of the highest expression of Sangiovese you will ever taste. Anticipated maturity: 2017 – 2035" Monica Larner

"Lots of sliced mushroom and berry character. Lots of flowers such as lilacs and violets. Full body, firm tannins and a fresh and clean finish. It's harmonious and beautiful. Drink or hold" James Suckling

"A dazzling effort in 2010, it instantly bursts with seductive aromas of ripe blackberries and plums, woven together with sweet spices, savory herbs, mineral, spring floral, fresh porcini, mint and a hint fo licorice. This Brunello is impressive for its seamless texture, beautiful balance and lovely core of acidity that provides lift and a wonderful sense of freshness all the way through the round, silky finish which makes it impossible to resist. Overall, this is a world-class Brunello that should continue to evolve for a decade and beyond (Best 2017 - 2030)" International Wine Report
